Prassthanam is an upcoming Indian Hindi-language political action film directed by Deva Katta. The film is produced by MaanayataDutt under her own banner Sanjay S Dutt Productions. The film stars ensemble cast of Sanjay Dutt, Manisha Koirala, JackieShroff, Chunky Pandey, Ali Fazal, SatyajeetDubey, and Amyra Dastur.
This film is a remake of the Telugu film of 2010 with the
same name. Eventually the producer Manyata Dutt, Director Deva Katta and Sanjay
Dutt was sent a legal notice for not having the remake rights of the film
by Shemaroo Entertainment and were provided 72 hours for responding to the
notice.
The film is set to release on 20 September 2019. The film is about a politician named Baldev Pratap
Singh and the environment and relation prevailing in his family.

Development
As soon as Sanjay Dutt was released from the jail he was
much interested in a remake of the Telugu film Dutt got interested to remake the
Telugu film “Prassthanam”. So to continue his interest he approached the
original director of that film named Deva Katta. The director was also
interested in the project after looking at the interest of Sanjay Dutt. It was
considered the first film directed by Deva Katta in Bollywood.
Casting
When the director of the film narrated the script to Manisha
Koirala, she accepted the film. When the director narrated the script Manisha
Koirala accepted the film. The director of the film further said that,
"The kind of regards and kindship that they (Dutt and Manisha) share has
added to the film and on-screen it is magical to see it". The director
further added that it was a dream come true for him when Jackie sheriff also
joined the film. Sooraj
Pancholi was also chosen to play in the lead role. But he was further replaced
by Ali Fazal due to the busy schedule for his next film.
Shooting
On 1 June 2018, on the event of Sanjay Dutt's late mother
Nargis' 89th birth commemoration, Dutt reported the film to be created.
Shooting started on 6 June the event Dutt's late father Sunil Dutt's 90th birth
commemoration. Sanjay Dutt started shooting parts of the film in Lucknow.
Release
In the event of Sanjay Dutt's 60th birthday celebration, the
one-moment mystery trailer was divulged. The official trailer of the film was
discharged on 29 August 2019.
The music of the film is created by Ankit Tiwari, Farhad
Samji and Vikram Montrose while verses are composed by Farhad Samji, Atique
Allahabadi, Shekhar Astitwa, Yash Eshawari, and Anurag Bhomia.
